Treatment designed to supplement the female sex hormones
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Optimization is a treatment designed to supplement the female sex hormones—estrogen and progesterone—that decrease as women approach and go through menopause. These hormones, produced by the ovaries, are essential for regulating menstrual cycles, moods, and overall well-being. Estrogen, in particular, is vital for maintaining strong, healthy bones and helping to prevent osteoporosis.
In women of childbearing age, hormones such as luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) are produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. These hormones stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs and release estrogen and progesterone, which prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur, hormone levels drop, leading to menstruation.
